Picture books are a different production job: full-color spreads, heavier paper, hardcover options, and a cover that has to work at arm's length. We've published four and know the details.

What we handle on a children's book

One thing to know up front: we do not provide illustrators. You bring the illustrations, whether they're your own or a hired illustrator's. We handle everything else.

  • Layout and design

    Spread layout, typography, and cover design built around your illustrations. If your spreads are already laid out, we check them against print specs and go straight to production.

  • Printing that suits the book

    Premium offset with top North American printers for hardcovers, dust jackets, heavy stock, and special finishes. Print-on-demand for shorter runs and lower up-front cost.

  • Registration and distribution

    ISBN, barcode, and copyright in your name. Distribution through Amazon, Ingram, and other retailers, plus an author website and store when the plan calls for it.

  • Launch

    Launch party guidance, trailers, and marketing materials, scoped to what you want the book to do.
